Investec Asset Management said it has appointed Batlhalefi Phale as client director as a signal of the company’s long-term commitment to the Botswana market. Based in Gaborone, Phale will take responsibility for the client service team and further strengthen existing long-term client relationships.
“This is an important appointment which underlines our commitment not only to deliver consistent long-term investment performance for our clients, but also to provide them with exceptional service. We believe Batlhalefi’s knowledge and expertise will prove invaluable in helping us further enhance our position in the Botswana market,” Martinus Seboni, MD of Investec Asset Management Botswana said.
Phale joins Investec Asset Management from Alexander Forbes Financial Services Botswana, where he spent twelve years. Most recently, he was General Manager of the company, leading the employee benefit consulting as well the financial planning consulting teams. Prior to Alexander Forbes, Phale worked for Botswana Telecommunications Corporation and Standard Chartered Bank Botswana.
Phale said: “I am delighted to have been given the opportunity to join an international company of the stature of Investec Asset Management. I believe this appointment will help me gain practical experience and knowledge at a global level, which should elevate me to a position whereby I can serve my countrymen with relevance and purpose.”
Phale holds a BA Economics and Statistics from University of Botswana.
