Pillay fights for karate growth in Southern Africa 

Karate South Africa (KSA) president Sonny Pillay, who is also the vice president of Union of African Karate Federations (UFAK), recently led a team of more than 80 South African Karatekas to the Gaborone Open International Karate championship.

This number marked the biggest representation of KSA karatekas in a Botswana organised local competition. And if things go as planned, this will be a new normal. Batswana would see as many South African karatekas compete here in Botswana Karate Association (BOKA) organised events and the locals also competing in major KSA sanctioned events in South Africa.
