Red tape sickens nurses

Nurses say they are not happy with the move by the Ministry of Health (MoH) for not considering them for promotions. The nurses expressed concern that a number of them have stayed long without being promoted.

The Botswana Nurses Union (BONU) has said is it “is equally worried about delays in processing payments for nurses.”

In a savingram addressed to the union’s regional secretaries and branch secretaries, BONU’s acting secretary general Onkemetse Ndulamo said a delegation from the union met with the Permanent Secretary at the Ministry of Health on 10th May 2023 concerning delayed promotions. He said the Permanent Secretary “acknowledged difficulties with the issue.”
