State lines up thousands of witnesses in Ecoplexus case 

The ongoing Ecoplexus case in which Batswana are reported to have been swindled out of P170 million is poised to become one of the most complex legal proceedings in Botswana’s legal  history with the State preparing to summon over 1 000 witnesses, according to court documents.

The case centers around a Chinese national, Weng Jiajin, who faces 994 counts of obtaining money by false pretenses allegedly linked to a pyramid scheme known as Ecoplexus.
