Stolen tablets worth P3.60 land nurse in court

A 22-year-old nurse, who used to work at Princes Marina Hospital, was this Friday arraigned before the Urban Customary Court Deputy President, Kgosi Kgosimotse Sebele, charged with theft.

Gaketlhalefe Ditshwene (22), from Kubung Ward in Maun, was on the 19/04/2005 charged with theft common after she was found with six Codeine tablets, worth 60 thebe each, stolen from Princess Marina Hospital.

State Prosecutor of Central Police Station, Constable Ditiro Phirinyane, told the court that at the time the accused was arrested, she was still a practicing nurse at the Princes Marina Hospital. He told the court that the accused is now based at the Maun Hospital.

He produced the stolen tablets in court as part of the evidence and told the court that after she was arraigned before the Urban Court, they received a letter from Management at Princess Marina Hospital. The letter said hospital management wanted to discuss the theft internally. Phirinyane asked the court to consider that.

Kgosi Kgosimotse Sebele told the court that because hospital management wanted to drop the case from his court and solve the issue at work, he had no objection to that. He told them that the Princess Marina Management was free to go and talk it over at work.
