An Indian national that was fatally shot in Gaborone may have been killed by the same suspect responsible for the killing of a Korean national a few weeks ago, it has emerged.
Police have charged Kitso Seeiso with the murder of a Korean National in Palapye and he has been arraigned before Village Magistrate Court.
Seeiso was last Tuesday arraigned before the same Court alongside with three locals for the murder of Block 6 resident where an Indian national Jinesh Naik was killed.
In the Palapye fatal incident, Seeiso is charged alongside Kabelo Mooketsi aged 24 Kitso Makati aged 25, Kabelo Gaadingwe aged 24, and Gaofengwe Lekagane aged 22. They are charged with murder, armed robbery and possession of unlawful ammunition.
The five are accused of killing a Korean national Jachul Koo and assaulted Moon Jan who sustained serious injuries and is currently hospitalized.
The five were remanded in custody pending police investigations and will appear at the end of November for mention. Seeiso together with three of his co-accused will appear for mention in Gaborone for the murder of an Indian national on the 21 November and seven days later appear at Palapye Magistrate Court with another four accused locals in the murder of Korean national.
Botswana Police Spokesperson Witness Bosija told this publication that police investigations on the matter are still ongoing.
He said the investigation team is on the ground to extensively look for more any possible information that could help link the Gaborone murder incident and Palapye murder incident since one of the suspects is accused in both incidents which happened at different intervals.
Bosija said the two cases are serious offenses where are a gun was used to allegedly kill two foreign nationals adding that more investigation must be conducted to find out any connections.
According to the charge sheet the five are accused of using a gun to kill the Korean and later walked away with cash amounting to over P8 000 and valuable items of more than P40 000 particularly jewellery items.
Last week Tuesday Seeiso together with other four locals appeared before village magistrate court again charged with the killing an Indian man Jinesh Naik in Block 6 in Gaborone on the 7 October where they got away with more than P1000 cash and valuable items worth close to half a million Pula. The accused persons in the murder of the Indian national are Kitso Staka, Bonno Mokgophe Onkabetse Mogotsi and Seeiso himself.
