One of the suspects in the armed robbery of Choppies Supermarket, which resulted in a police constable sustaining gunshot injuries, was recently caught by the police.
The police say that the suspect, 36-year-old Sera Genewe of Senyawe village, is a prime suspect in the robbery of two Choppies Supermarket outlets in Tlokweng.
Botswana police Public Relations Officer, Assistant Commissioner Christopher Mbulawa, said on Monday that they only managed to recover P 6000 of the stolen money.
“We are still looking for other suspects linked to the robberies and who are still at large,” he said.
He added that the injured officer has recovered from the gunshot wounds.
“We appeal to members of the public to assist us with information that can lead to the arrest of the other suspects,” he said.
