Botswana needs to be responsive to the changing economic times. As a country we cannot behave like the economy of this country is as good as it was in the 1990s. Botswana’s economy is the weakest it has been in a very long time. In the last three years we have seen diamond sales dwindle by as much as more than 50 percent. This is a result of several factors, including the impact of synthetics. It is very unlikely that even if the sakes were to recover, they could reach the heights of pre-collapse days.
