They mistook Tawana Moremi for a toilet

Where do I even begin? I had to take a jog to calm my nerves before writing this piece. I am still shocked at Ian Khama’s conduct in Maun last Friday. Though shocked, I am not entirely surprised at what Khama did. The man is desperate. The man is in a really bad space. I have always told people that of all the people in the country, I do not envy Khama because he doesn’t lead a happy life. Don’t be fooled by the glamorous State House we put him in and the BDF aircrafts he toys around with. Believe me, even vagabonds sleep peacefully at night when compared to Khama. You just need to look at his face and signs of an unhappy man are as prominent as pimples of a teenager who just reached puberty. Every time I have to think of all the problems that I have in life, I take solace in the knowledge Khama is worse than all of us. Thanks to the man who invented recording devices the whole world had the opportunity to listen to Khama and his over excited puppets insulting Tawana Moremi, right in his territory. I listened as they took turns undressing Tawana and thought to myself, look who is talking.

First things first. Tawana’s ex wife Tsitsi Moremi is such a disgrace to the women folk. She stooped so low Batawana should strip her of their Royal surname. For her to agree to be paraded in front of her former in-laws in such a distasteful manner speaks volume about her character. Look, for a long time the people of Maun have been speaking in hushed tones about their reservations on Tsitsi being the Queen mother to their heir apparent. And despite all their misgivings, they never went out to openly reveal their thoughts about her. They respected her. They respected Tawana. Tsitsi is known to be a generous woman but no one has ever judged her. Tsitsi is a beautiful woman whom many people say she could make a perfect Siamese twin to Khanyi Mbau in many respects but still, people extended a lot of respect to her, as the mother of Tawana’s children.

I have had a chat with Tawana before and he explained to me that he has always been against Khama becoming his children’s God father. He said the only reason he allowed it to happen was to show respect and regard for Tsitsi as an equal parent in the raising of their kids.

Tsitsi is the one who went to Khama and begged him to become her kids’s God father. It therefore must be disheartening to Tawana when he now finds out the whole idea was to later use his noble gesture against him. More hurting must be the fact that this whole character assassination is endorsed by none other than Tsitsi, the woman whom Tawana once loved and shared his deepest thoughts and emotions with. The woman who breastfed his three kids. Tsitsi had no business going to Maun where she probably was briefed in advance on the role her presence will play in Maun. I have no doubt she was told to go to Maun so she can legitimize the onslaught on Tawana as he was labeled an irresponsible father, in front of his parents and his subjects. Just like a prostitute that gives out the price for any position the customer wants, Tsitsi agreed to tag along.

And then you have Ian Khama. It is surprising that, of all the people, Khama can be the one to listen in excitement as his lieutenants take turns talking about Tawana’s failed marriage. He has no known or declared kids yet he has the audacity to display himself as a perfect father figure. This is a man whose sexual orientation remains a mystery to the public and you would have expected him to avoid issues that border on raising kids. Tawana is better as he has given a shot at marriage.

Divorce is no sign a man is not man enough. A man who divorces is far much better than a man who has publicly declared his disdain for the institution. Probably out of pressure from his mother, Khama paid lobola and was supposed to marry but immediately his mother passed on he probably said thank God she’s gone. He wasted the poor woman’s time with the hope he will walk her down the aisle while deep down his heart he knew his heart didn’t belong there. I challenge Khama to bring evidence that Tawana is ill-mannered and doesn’t respect him. You see the problem with Khama is that once you hold a different view point from his, it becomes an insult to his fragile ego. I have interacted with Tawana and I know the love he has for his children. I have accompanied Tawana as he took his children shopping. I have seen Tawana accompanying his son to sports activities in South Africa. I therefore do not understand why Khama would want to make people believe Tawana is a detached father. Tawana spends his own money on his kids while we all know Khama on the other hand uses State resources to travel and entertain Tawana’s son.

Granted, even if Khama assists Tawana’s children, was it necessary to publicize it? No. Only petty people who crave self-importance do that. Only people who have issues with their self esteem do that. But we can’t be surprised at Khama’s behavior. This is a man who tags along BTV cameras to beam him as he doles out blankets and soup to the less privileged. Khama doesn’t give because he has an empathetic heart. He gives because he wants to be seen giving. Handing out freebies gives him some Godly adrenaline, it would seem. How stupid of Khama’s campaign team to attack Tawana for his divorce when the BDP candidate they went to endorse in Maun knows the effects of divorce. His father got divorced, tried again and as we speak he is on separation with his wife, again.

The less talked about the other none entities the better. Alec Seametso really doesn’t deserve my attention. His upbringing is well documented and as such he may be excused for his excitement. Never even in his wildest dreams did he ever foresee himself rolling with people in higher positions of power. It can happen to most people that when you were brought up in tough and destitute situations, a taste of glamour and excessive food can poison your brains. Alec should be busy collecting the BDP perdium to go back to Kanye after all this campaign frenzy and help raise his kid who is currently after foster care. I really laughed when I heard Alec Molelo joining in the insults on Tawana. It must be hurting to Tawana to have malnutritioned subjects such as Molelo attacking him just because he hopes Khama will throw him a bone. I hope next time BDP members have some excess to download, they will not mistake Tawana for their toilet.
