Botswana’s economy is now on a free fall.
It is off the rails and getting it back will prove much harder for those in power, not least because they are still finding it hard to even admit some most elementary facts.
They cannot for example accept that when economic forecast dims, the first action is to reach for your banks balances and protect what you already have in the bank.
For them the spending spree continues – unabated.
By now we should all know that our politicians don’t mind being elected on the basis of false pretences. They take us for fools. They always did.
