Verbal war erupts over a space in the shade

Kedirile Rametsana, 31, from Mputswe Ward in Mogapinyana but currently of Bontleng in Gaborone, was this Friday arraigned before the Urban Customary Court President, Kgosi Dikwalo Monametsi, charged with common nuisance. He pleaded not guilty to the charges.

Constable Bathobakae of the Urban Police told the court that the complainant, Mmaonyana Ngkwako, of Mokgalo Ward in Molepolole, found the accused, Rametsana, sitting in the shade in front of his house because it was hot but Ngkwako didn’t like it.

The two, who rent lodgings in the same yard and have had misunderstandings before, then engaged in a bitter exchange of words.

A witness, by the name of Lefoko, was called to give evidence in court but Kgosi Monametsi deemed it inadequate and ordered the police to call more witnesses.
The case continues next week.
