There is a new productions company in town and it claims to offer state of the art media solutions.
This past Friday, Batswana were treated to a local wedding show in Commerce Park at the new company’s offices. Local models from the company that was being launched paraded on the red carpet with designer outfits and wedding gowns from Monyadi Bridals with oozing confidence.
The production company, called Chengeta’s Boy, offers full wedding coverages as part of its business, at a cost, of course.
“Wedding Story is a package that is designed to cover all your wedding requirements, i.e. from invites, filming, sound system, hottest Djs in town and master of ceremonies,” reads one of the company leaflets.
Speaking of Master of ceremonies, the company had hooked the Ice Queen, Desma Buswane, to act as one for the night. She excelled at performing her chore; unfortunately the launch had a couple of technical problems during the show.
which should have served as a disappointment for them because they claim to offer quality sound systems and the hottest DJs in town. Had they done the show at a more suitable location, it would have definitely been a hit.
Another one of their leaflets also reads thus, “We have the best looking models in the country for showcasing advertising and branding. Our models bring out the best in company branding and are available on call.”
Taking a cue from the leaflet, Buswane revealed that one of the aims of the company is to give the modeling industry in Botswana a facelift.
“The company grooms models to be able to handle different types of events, be it corporate, or branding etc.Models add colour to an event, those smiling pretty ladies in high heels at the events we attend are what gives colour to an event, and Chengeta’s Boy Production offers just that,” said Buswane.
And, of course, there was the aspect of African time; the whole show started a whole hour after the scheduled time of 6.30.
Before the wedding gowns show, the models were strutting down the red carpet in what they termed the catwalk, a show of fast-paced spunk and debacle, the obstacle every model has to overcome. The wedding gowns were modeled at a slow pace with serenading music.
The show was part of the launch for Chengeta‘s Boy production and it boasted of performances by local artists Eugene Jackson and Ivo (an R & B singer in Gaborone).
Chengeta’s Boy Productions claims to offer diverse media solution services such as design marketing and sales of different media products.
The company offers print design and production through various artworks such as logos, brochures, newsletters, magazines, financial reports, annual reports, letterheads, business cards and invoice books. It also offers corporate wear and gifts in the form of branded uniforms, golf shirts, baseball caps, cricket hats, keyholders, beer mugs, personalized diaries and different types of calendars.
