The budding gospel diva, Charity Boitshoko, has released her ten-track album.
Boitshoko, stepped into the local gospel scene with a rich medley that had popular Setswana hymns, Sefapanong Ke A Boga, Joko Ya Hao, Semphethe Wena Yo Rategang and Mookamedi.
The motivated singer has followed it up with a full 10-track album that features award-winning muso, Kabelo Eric, The Disciples and singer-cum-actress, Segofalang Nagafela.
O Etla is not merely a collection of songs; it is an album in the full sense of the word with warm, luscious and extraordinary tracks. Interestingly, the mother of two worked with her husband, Solomon, making it a rare family affair. The album has songs like Iyona Yona O Etla Jeso, This Light of Mine, My Lifetime and We Glorify Your Name.
Boitshoko thanked her husband for being supportive.
“The fact that my husband is also a musician made things easier for me. He is the one who produced the album,” she said.
The album has ignited the gospel scene for Boitshoko. Iyona is already on video and the track is likely to mesmerize the hearts of gospel music lovers.
“I’m equally excited about the video of Iyona – we recorded it in Selebi-Phikwe and it has been a success so far,” she said.
The gospel artiste, who was born in Mahalapye, said the whole idea behind the album was to remind people to turn back to God.
“I want people to be aware that we are in the last days and people should be ready for Him. They should turn to God as fast as they can. It’s all about God,” said Boitshoko.
The success of her single has been a big morale-booster ahead of the release of the full album. She added that singing gospel is like evangelisation to God’s people. “God gave me the voice and I want to use it to minister to His people,” she said.
She expressed her gratitude for Eric’s contribution in her album. On her latest album she has collaborations with Kabelo Eric the popular gospel artiste that adds energy to her song Iyona. Eric has been Boisthoko mentor.
