Cecilia Mushininga, a Zimbabwean national, has released her debut album, titled I will Praise the Lord, in Botswana.
Mushininga said the album was her own personal prayer to God, as she felt that music was the best medium for her to communicate with the Almighty.
I will Praise the Lord is a refreshing compendium of exuberant worship and praise melodies. It is a heart-warming lyrical and musical masterpiece.
“Recording this project was like being lifted up into a new dimension in my relationship with God, whom I love so much and I want the listeners to enjoy God just as much as I enjoy Him,” she said.
The musician said her album is an 8-track gospel album which consists of different musical flavours.
The album consists of hit songs like Thank you Lord, It’s only Jesus, Remember me Holy God, Neniwo Baba (Even me Father).
The album has received massive airplay on local radio stations that include RB1, RB2 and Gabz FM.
“Music is the gift that he gave me and I am pleased to use it to communicate with him. In song, I can also offer my own prayers to him so this album serves many purposes,” she said.
Mushininga has already shot the video for her song ‘Neniwo Baba’ in Gaborone and is to debut on television end of April 2013.
She is enjoying the journey, but she is adamant about the fact that her music is her ministry and that her number one goal is to “win souls for the kingdom”.
She also wants to make sure that the message in her music ministry remains clear.
Meanwhile, she is working on a single track which she hopes to release in December this year.
