Advance Apology for Unapologetically Rocking the Stage

On 6 September 2025, at precisely 17:30 hours, the band known as WDP will, without remorse, take to the stage at Bojanala Waterfront as part of the prestigious GIMC Jazz Festival. In full knowledge of the consequences, WDP intends to unleash an opening set so powerful, so rhythmically unlawful, that the people of Botswana may find themselves involuntarily dancing, shouting, and possibly attempting jazz dances without a license.

These actions, though entirely intentional, may recklessly endanger the public’s sense of composure. The allegations that WDP will set the tone for the entire festival, overwhelm the crowd with groove, and leave subsequent acts trembling in their green rooms are, regrettably, entirely true.

The set may further implicate local hips, feet, and vocal cords in uncontainable movement, as well as several unsuspecting uncles who swore they were “just here to sit down quietly.” The Government of Botswana cannot protect you. The South African Reserve Bank cannot bail you out. Even the Directorate of Intelligence will be caught humming along.

Accordingly, WDP unconditionally apologises in advance to the people of Botswana for what is about to transpire. The group acknowledges that such musical fireworks may cause uncontrollable joy, and hereby accepts responsibility for any outbreaks of festival-wide happiness.

The band reaffirms its commitment to spreading groove, respecting the rhythm of law, and assures the public that once the set begins, there will be no turning back.Contact: [email protected]
