Another Election Protest Rocks BFA

Sunday Standard has it in good authority that Maokaneng Bontshetse has launched an appeal agqinst the outcome of the recent elections.

Bontshetse’s appeal comes on the backdrop of a similar one by fellow NEC cadindate Senki Sesinyi.

Like Sesinyi, he contends that a non member of the electoral board was used in vote counting contrary to article 26 of the BFA electoral code.

Bontshetse also protests against an alleged spoilt vote cast for him. The vote saw him lose to Pelotshweu Motlogelwa by a single vote.

He says during a counting in Palapye, his vote was disqualified without any reasons despite a protest from one observer, a certain Lesego Leaketsa.

Bontshetse contests that the alleged spoiled vote did not fall short to be classified spoilt as per articles 21 and 22 of the BFA electoral code.
