Exceptional achievements of Armstrongs Attorneys have been recognised by Professional Management Review (PMR).africa and the result is that it was awarded the Diamond Award.
PMR.africa, is a Southern Africa publication and bases its awards and most editorial on independent surveys.
With a team comprising partners and associates who specialize in Commercial Law, Mining and Resources Law, Energy, Commercial Banking and Finance, Litigation and Arbitrations, the firm was named as the best law firm in Botswana by PMR.
Speaking on the sidelines of a media tour of the company’s offices, managing partner at the law firm, John Carr-Hartley, said the award was an acknowledgment that they were one of the best law firms in the country.
“PMR conducts survey and gives a number of awards in various categories and one of them is the legal category. The diamond award is the best award you can achieve. They conducted the survey with business leaders and asked them to rank various institutions,” he said.
The ratings are sourced monthly from top decision-makers to identify the leaders in all major industries and professions. They are based on client-customer-supplier ratings as well as contributors to the economic growth and development of institutions or organisations in the business of service provision.
“PMR stated that Armstrong was awarded this award for excellence and we are proud to have been named the best law firm for 2013. We are a law firm that aspires for greatness,” said Carr-Hartley.
He said the award gives them the opportunity to demonstrate why they believe they are the leading commercial legal firm in Botswana. He paid tribute to members of the business community for their continued support.
“All our clients are equally important; small or big.
Some of our clients include major banks, hospitals among them Bokamoso and Debswana hospitals.
We also have clients in the mining resource sector such as Murray and Roberts and China Civil Engineering among others,” said Carr-Hartley.
Carr-Hartley leads the Firm’s Disputes Team, and is widely regarded as an ‘Excellent Litigator’ who also offers impressive expertise in arbitration cases.┬á Clients value the fact that he keeps them in the loop and that his attention to detail is on the button.
Prestigious transactional matters form a mainstay of another partner at the firm, Sipho Ziga. He offers valuable experience in Mining and Financing work.  Sources say he is brilliant, responsive and his advice is to the point.
Another partner at the law firm is Mark McKee, who joined Armstrongs in the summer of 2012. He specialises in legal advice and transactional support on all major transactional matters within the firm with a special emphasis on financial, capital markets and mineral sector matters.
