Contrary to recent information provided by the Law Society, it has since come to light that Former Mahalapye West Member of Parliament Bernard Bolele’s law firm is dully registered and enrolled.
Bolele is himself fully compliant as a legal practitioner before the High Court and all other courts of Botswana.
The documents seen by The Telegraph say that “The law firm has dully paid to the fidelity guarantee fund the Annual contribution for the year ending 31 December 2016 as prescribed under section 54 of the legal Practitioners Act No. 13 of 1996.”
In terms of section 56 (a) of the Legal Practitioner Act, the membership of the law society of Botswana shall comprise amongst others of a person who is admitted as an attorney or Advocate and, except where exempt, holds a practicing certificate.
Bolele’s law firm is a member of the Law Society of Botswana.
This is according to a practicing certificate signed by the Law Society of Botswana Tebogo Moipolai on 7th July 2016.
