Climate change apostles gather in Dubai to wish more misery on the poor

The annual climate change jamboree takes place in Dubai and as always there is a great disconnect on one hand between the elites who attend these junkets and ordinary people on the other who live in the real world. In the book of the elites, the reality of climate change is what they say it is and no one is allowed to question them. If you dare, you are called a climate denier and we end up with the present situation whereby reality is not what it is but simply what our elites decree to be.

Sometimes when you listen to their climate hysteria and the proposals that they make, you cannot help but wonder why these supposedly highly educated people sound so surreal.  It is also the tragedy of our age that no one is allowed to question the legitimacy of global warming science. Everyone is allowed to express themselves freely unless you are one of those who do not subscribe to the idea that the earth is ending tomorrow. These people are supposed to be enlightened but are highly intolerant of thoughts which do not align with their climate hysteria. They are not even prepared to allow open debate but are only interested in controlling what others think.

They tell us that there is a climate emergency to justify why they have to congregate annually in one major city after the other to concoct all sorts of crazy regulations to stop what they deem to be a climate apocalypse.  They have been warning us of this phenomenon since the 70’s. In 1971, climate scientists warned us that the planet was bracing for an ice age. In other words, we faced the threat of freezing to death.  That prediction was false. They switched their theory to global warming by 2000 and once again the predictions were false.  So the terminology has been changed to climate change to mean whatever they want it to. So the definition is deliberately amorphous; if it gets cold, it is a sign of climate change and if it gets warm, again it is due to climate change.

The tragedy of it all is that their climate change regulations would plunge the world economy into misery, and poverty instead of prosperity. And we must never forget that these are the same people who never tire of reminding us that they are not only compassionate but morally superior too.  One such crazy idea that they flaunt – which would undoubtedly raise the ire of millions of ordinary people the world over including Botswana- is restrictive regulations to make it difficult  for us to raise cattle. The apostles tell us that our cattle emit a lot of gas which leads to global warming and recommend that we stop eating beef and dairy products. The impact of such regulations would be devastating for a nation whose rural population relies on livestock farming but these people do not care. They would still be able to afford expensive sirloin steak while the poor suffer

However, there is light at the end of the tunnel as not everyone is convinced that the price of saving the earth is to destroy civilization and economic progress. This week the Prime Minister of the UK faced a near mutiny in his ranks as MPS voted against his government’s move to introduce a quota on electric vehicles in the nation though quotas. These cars are already expensive compared to traditional ones. This lack of both common sense and pragmatism have also rightfully riled Mr Al Jaber, the president of COP 28. Taking on one of the leading climate apostles, former Irish President, Mary Robison,  Jaber   said: “Please help me, show me the roadmap for a phase-out of fossil fuel that will allow for sustainable socioeconomic development, unless you want to take the world back into caves.”
