Competition Authority faces scrutiny over approval of Hollard’s acquisition of Absa Life

The Competition and Consumer Authority (CCA) has come under fire for reportedly ignoring concerns from industry players regarding the recent acquisition of Absa Life by Hollard Life Assurance Company of Botswana. The deal enables Hollard to deepen its presence in Africa, where it currently operates in six countries, including Namibia, Mozambique, Zambia, Lesotho, Botswana, and Ghana.
