Credmark Botswana will once again host a skill development event for members of the credit and risk fraternity in Botswana. Credmark, a Credit and Risk Management training and consulting firm, will be hosting the National Credit Convention 2007. This event will be held at the Botswana Bureau of Standards (BOBS) Conference Centre on the March 21, 2007.
?The purpose of this event is to create a platform for industry leaders and other players in the field to share their knowledge and experiences,? said Nkosi Mwaba, the CEO of Credmark Botswana. ?The convention will highlight the importance of critical knowledge in credit and risk management. We need to promote and develop the skills of Batswana to a level where a credit manager will be recognised as a professional or even an expert in the field. In the United Kingdom for instance, they offer degree level courses in Credit and the same is being developed in South Africa and other countries. We encourage the business community to empower their credit officers and managers as they play a vital role in the performance and survival of today?s business models.?
The theme for this year?s event is: ?Empowering the Credit Profession?. Also participating in the event are key players in the industry, such as the Botswana Export Credit Insurance company (BECI), Transunion ITC, Business Towers, Citizen Entrepreneurial Development Agency (CEDA) and Sebego Sharma Attorneys. The event will feature a panel of experts from different credit disciplines who have practical knowledge and insight on the status quo in Botswana.
