Mothibatsela said, “There is need to diversify our economy by developing other industries such as agriculture. With the right effort and resources, agriculture can make a major contribution to the diversification of our economy and our nation’s food security. In addition, we would like to see the agricultural sector being revolutionised by strengthening agricultural efficiency and production across the entire value chain; from input supply, production, post-harvest handling, to processing, marketing and access to regional and international markets,
Debswana believes in supporting and promoting a commercialized, diversified, sustainable and competitive Agricultural sector, as it has the potential to be one of the key drivers of Botswana’s economy and can reduce over reliance on diamonds.
The District Agricultural shows will provide a platform for farmers and business communities to network, share experiences and expertise in Agro Business, infrastructure and technology.
