Don’t criticise those supporting runners

On the 9th June 2024 I embarked on my maiden Comrades Marathon. It was an 85.9km uprun from Durban to Pietermaritzburg and I made it in 11:21:51. I was among the 150 runners from Botswana coming from different running clubs led by the big and oldest club in the country, Gaborone Striders Running Club.

My involvement with running is a result of a conscious decision to live a healthy lifestyle. There was a point in my life, 2020 to be precise when I looked myself in the mirror and got ashamed because I was bulging. I quit bad food and bad eating habits  and I hit the gym. After months in the gym I decided to try running and I noticed that I shed weight faster with running. I love running because I get to enjoy the beauty of nature and have conversations with myself.  I am forever conscious of my surroundings and that has helped me create stories and memories along the way.
