Epic clashes on the cards as beMobile Premiership resumes

GU hosts Orapa United In what will be one of the weekends’ highlight matches, Gaborone United (GU) will host title chasing Orapa United at the Molepolole Sports Complex on Saturday afternoon. Now under the temporary tutelage of George Mogopodi following the sacking of their entire technical team, GU will have their work cut out for them as they try to overcome Madinda Ndlovu’s on form charges. So far this season, GU has parted ways with two coaches following their on field struggles, and a third coach is expected to be announced very soon. Where GU has struggled this season, Orapa United have been impressive, losing only one game from the seventeen games played. With log leaders Township Rollers, who are three points ahead of them set to play their game on Sunday, Orapa United will be looking to put pressure on them and move level on points, even if only for 24 hours. Chiefs versus Sankoyo In another interesting clash billed for the National Stadium on Saturday night, another title challenging side, Mochudi Centre Chiefs will host struggling Sankoyo Bush Bucks. The game will be very crucial for both the two teams, with Chiefs seeking to close the gap on the league’s two front runners while Sankoyo will be looking to avoid being drawn into the relegation dogfight. Unlike the Sankoyo of last season, 2015/16 has been an underwhelming one for the Maun based outfit and their struggles on and off the field have been very pronounced this season. BR Highlanders and Green Lovers In what is expected to be a hotly contested match, 14th placed BR Highlanders will face off against 13th placed Green Lovers at the Serowe Sports Complex on Saturday night. Highlanders, who are languishing in the relegation zone, are just eight points behind Green Lovers and will be looking to bridge the gap in a bid to avoid relegation. While Green Lovers started their debut season on the bePremiership brightly, the team has of late struggled and the loss of their marksman Moatlhodi Ralesota is bound to add to their woes. However, against a BR Highlanders that has won only one game, drawn eight and lost another eight from their seventeen outings, this game will provide Green Lovers with an ample opportunity to escape the relegation conundrum. Rollers visits Jwaneng Galaxy The last of the weekend action will see log leaders Township Rollers visit the diamond town of Jwaneng for a date with Jwaneng Galaxy at the Galaxy Stadium. While Rollers are yet to lose a league game and are favourites to win the title, the team will be keen to avoid last season’s scenario where they led the league for a long period, only to collapse at a crucial point and lose the title to Chiefs. However, they will be coming up against a Galaxy side that seems to be finally coming to form. After an underwhelming start to the season that saw them part ways with Boyo Radipotsane, the Galaxy ship has now steadied and they will be looking to put one over their most illustrious opponents. However, this will not be an easy game for the Jwaneng outfit, given the quality and resources that Rollers possesses.
