Ex-Police Commissioner Makgope criminal charges dropped 

The Directorate of Public Prosecution (DPP) has dropped charges against former Botswana Police Service Commissioner, Keabetswe Makgope, in a case in which he is charged alongside former President Ian Khama and former Director of Directorate of Intelligence and Security (DIS) Isaac Kgosi. 

The former Police Commissioner was facing three charges of aiding and abetting unlawful possession of firearms while Bruno Paledi who is the former police deputy commissioner, a former director of the Directorate on Corruption and Economic Crime (DCEC) and deputy permanent secretary faces two charges of aiding and abetting unlawful possession of firearms. Paledi who was facing charges relating to the same case had his charges also dropped this week.
