The Station Commander for Mahalapye, Superintendent Olefile Badisang, said that they are investigating the death of a 16-year-old Kalamare Junior Secondary School student who was found dead 100 meters from the school on Friday morning.
“We have been told she was murdered by a boyfriend who also, at the same time, was found hanging on a nearby tree at the scene,” he said.
Badisang said the 28-year-old boyfriend who committed suicide is from Kalamare Village of Mahalapye.
He said that there was a misunderstanding between the two deceased who were having an affair. Badisang said there could not be more information he could reveal because the incident was still fresh and under investigation.
“The police have just arrived from the scene and nothing can be disclosed because we have not even informed their parents and relatives,” he said, adding that this was the first incident of its kind in Mahalapye.
