Looking to inspire wellness across Botswana, the leading annual health and wellness expo has now been revamped to Botswana Health & Expo and will run simultaneously at Airport Junction in Gaborone and the Galo Mall in Francistown, from Friday 29th to Saturday 30th July 2016, staging an array of activities.
“The aim is to bring the Health & Wellness industry together to share their offerings to Botswana. Over 50 Exhibitors are expected to showcase their products and services spanning from medical, fitness, nutrition, organics, beauty, rejuvenation, and holistic living. This allows for the companies and institutions to connect physically with their existing and prospective clients and understand fully how their product or service impacts them,” explains expo coordinator Sindie Rasesa. She also adds that participants will actively engage in a15KM Health Walk lead by Minister of Health, Honorable Dorcas on Saturday 29th July.
This year’s expo conference, which will be held on Thursday 28th, is comprised of experts with diverse experiences in health and wellness and has carefully selected relevant and pragmatic topics that would assist delegates in dealing with winds of change in the sector, says Rasesa: “The discussions will focus on coming up with effective prevention strategies that would preserve the one precious life that we have hence the theme ‘OneLife.Prevent.Preserve’Attendents should expect presentations and panel discussions ranging from emerging trends in health and wellness and ways to respond, developing adaptive business models in the changing healthcare environment. The Keynote speaker will be Minister of Health, Honorable Dorcas Makgato. Alongside her will be South African Business Women Association Business Woman of the Year 2011, Dr. Nondumiso Mzizana, and Cancer Awareness Activist & author of booklet series titled ‘Facing Cancer From Under A Mask’, Lebani Mazhani.”
Free health screenings, which are arranged at both venues, will assist the public in knowing their health status to proactively prevent the risks of attracting ailments. The expo has seen increased participation from partners including Virgin Active, Bakwadi Karate Academy, Special Olympics Botswana, Fit Kids Studio, Wimpy and Spur and the program among others. The program will also offer Zumba for children, inflatable obstacle course, artistic performances, colouring games and giveaways.
“The expo is for all those who are ready to take responsibility for their health, life, freedom and upgrade their well-being to the next level,” states founder Stephen Modimakwane. The event is sponsored by the Ministry Of Health, Virgin Active, Bomaid, Gazette, Gabz FM and BOT50.
