Goodhope to host Babina Tholo cultural festival on December 24th

Dinoko Media and Advertising in collaboration with En’Hotties Agency will host the ‘First Annual Babina Tholo Cultural Festival’ on December 24th 2015 at Good Hope show grounds.

According to the event organizer, Mpho Zane Dinoko the idea to host a cultural festival was inspired by lack of entertainment in the area.

“Basically the idea came after we noticed a gap in terms of entertainment in the whole of Barolong Farms, then we decided to come up with this show. We engaged our elders so that they could teach us about our culture as Barolong,” said Dinoko.

A number of activities have been lined up for the day as a way of attracting people to the event. Dinoko, also known as Zaine Aftamath, said, “We do not have these kinds of events in our area, so we thought we should bring this event to Barolong so that residents can have fun”.

The day will start off with a cultural exchange at the main Kgotla in Good Hope which will be free from 08h00 until 02h00. Dinoko said this event will give people an opportunity to learn about the culture, history, traditional games, proverbs, food, why they have different totems and about  other tribes that live amongst them. After this, the venue will then change to the show grounds where the main event will take place. Attendees will enjoy headline acts including Zinhle Ngidi, Trade Mark, Xoli M and The Josh. Local acts  will include Mosako, Noello, Dark Boy Masey, Mingo Touch(BW), Frost, Matlhogoputswa(Mahempe), DJ Gouveia, DJ Chabo, DJ Laprie, DJ Anthem, and DJ real Tones.

Presold tickets will cost P80, whilst VIP tickets will be sold for P250. Tickets can be bought at all Spar outlets country wide via web tickets.
