Government sued over Masisi’s imported bulls

Businessman Monametsi “Monty” Chiepe has filed a lawsuit against government’s decision to import  162 breeding cattle from the United States of America.

Chiepe, through his lawyers Tubego-Bulawayo has issued a writ of summons against the Attorney General, citing  copyright infringement.

Through the writ, Chiepe accuses the  Ministry of Agriculture (MoA)  of copyright infringement and circumvention of business.

It has since emerged that since 2017, Chiepe’s companies – Champrimo Botswana (Pty) Ltd, Impact Technologies (Pty) Ltd and Trilobite Holdings (Pty) Ltd (trading as Impact Genetics) have been engaged in talks with the MoA for the development of a framework to develop a sustainable beef industry for the country.
