Government says it is working to secure a new investor to reopen the Masama Coal Mine in Medie, which remains under care and maintenance amid legal and labour disputes.
Minister of Minerals and Energy Bogolo Kenewendo said engagements are under way with potential investors from across the globe to develop a sustainable plan for the mine’s revival. She cautioned, however, that negotiations are sensitive, particularly as an associated legal matter is pending before the courts.
