Gaborone United has lifted the suspension of their striker, Tebogo Sembowa who has been in the wilderness for close to a month. He was suspended together with the duo of Mandla Mgadla and Jackie Mothatego for disciplinary reasons. They were suspended for three months but Mgadla and Mothatego would later on be forgiven leaving Sembowa in limbo.
The veracity of Sembowa’s suspension was also questioned around the team circles because they have a thin striking force. His suspension was seen by many as a drawback for football because he is an international player who used to help Zebras when the going was tough. Currently GU is fifth on the league, nine points behind log leaders, Township Rollers. Their quest to challenge for the championships will require a lot of effort because teams at the top are on form.
Meanwhile GU goalkeeper, Kenalemeng Neo is reported to be recuperating at Bokamoso private hospital after being involved in a car accident over the weekend. At the time of going to press, it was not clear how his injury would keep him out from action.
