Dear editor
I know that many people have criticised and went to the extent of insulting the Botswana Football Association over the National Appeals Board’s decision to withdraw Township Rollers from reaching this year’s lucrative Coca-Cola Cup.
This was after a controversial win over BDF IX. I, however, say NAB was right and nothing should be questioned about their decisions because all was done accordingly.
Rollers should not take our soccer officials for granted and if they ask the team to report at the football ground they should do so.
Rollers are not and will never be bigger than Botswana Football Association and BFA should treat Rollers like any other team in the Premier League.
Some people told me that the two teams should have been told 48 hours before the game.
Rubbish, because the National Appeals Board met on Wednesday before ordering a replay on Thursday as the final was scheduled for Saturday.
Football Lovers, there was nothing that the NAB should have done. People should also remember that all the mess was caused by Township Rollers officials who acted like BFA and I would like to ask Botswana Football Association to punish Rollers for taking football matters to court.
The team itself is disrespecting BFA and I would be happy if a serious punishment can be installed in the Rollers family.
Rollers are like any other team affiliated to Botswana Football Association.
It is the same as Mokgosi and Maletamote or Tshikinyega Tigers.
Their supporters are not a guarantee of bad behaviour.
Hail BFA and thanks to their officials for the development of our football.
