Is Botswana getting value from the president’s numerous travels abroad?

For some reason, the president’s travels outside the country no longer hit the headlines.

People have grown so used to these travels such that the real news is when by chance it happens that the president spends a whole month at home.

It is then that his stay becomes a commentary of public interest.

In worse instances, he would fly in from abroad after weeks vist, only to leave after a day or two – just passing by, critics would say.

I have been meaning to write about the president’s travels for quite a while now, but every time something else I deemed more urgent would crop up.
