In a totally unprecedented way, the ruling party and those parties that constitute the opposition united and took turns to blame it on lack of voter education.
“We need to do everything to teach our people the importance of voting,” so went the mantra.
Politicians are often wrong.
In this instance they were not only wrong but also deliberately disingenuous.
Botswana has no shortage of political knowledge. Except perhaps among the political class.
Voters in Botswana are sufficiently engaged. Voters in Botswana are also well informed.
