The Government Chief Spokesperson, Jeff Ramsay, has fallen under the radar of DCEC investigations.
Sunday Standard can confirm that Dr Ramsay fell under the DCEC swoop after another senior civil servant reported him to DCEC for using his position to further his interests in the media through government advertising.
There are suspicions in government, confirmed to be wrong by Sunday Standard investigations, that Dr Ramsay has interests in The Voice Newspaper.
The Publisher of the Voice, Beata Kasale, has since been questioned.
She is believed to have shown DCEC officers share certificates which indicate her and one Don Moore as the only two shareholders.
Rather than The Voice, Dr Ramsay is believed to have a minimal holding at a company called Dikgang which owns Mmegi and Monitor.
Dr Ramsay’s shareholding in Dikgang is believed to be less than one percent. The shareholding was first declared when Ramsay joined the civil service after he was recruited by former President, Festus Mogae.
Ramsay did not want to comment on the story.
