Members of the Jehovah’s Witnesses Church in Botswana will next weekend, 28th June descend on Lobatse for their Special Assembly which will be held at the town’s Civic Centre.
The theme for the Assembly; “God’s Word Exerts Power” is drawn from Hebrews 4:12. and underscores a core family value for Jehovah’s Witnesses. According to a press statement from the church’s spokesperson Paul More, “Witness families embrace the Bible as the most trustworthy guide and source of advice in these troubled times.
“Unlike any other book, Jehovah’s Witnesses recognise that the Bible has the power to transform lives.” More stated that, “at the Assembly, guidance will be given on how we can harmonise our thoughts and ways with Jehovah’s will; and on how we can fully benefit from the power of God’s Word in our lives.
Through talks, demonstrations and interviews; the following questions will be answered; Why should we have confidence in Jehovah’s word?, How can we experience the power of God’s word in our lives?, How can we avoid falling prey to the deceptive power of Satan’s world? And What is the key to ongoing transformation, even with regard to strongly entrenched habits and attitudes?”.
