As a way of defying hardships encountered in everyday life today, the Jehovah’s Witness Church will gather for a spiritual banquet on the 12th and 13th of February 2011 at the Baobab English Medium in Phase 2.
Darrell Morton, of the Jehovah’s Witness Public Information Office said that the annual 2-day event is meant to “keep over 7,300,000 of Jehovah’s Witnesses around the world spiritually awake”.
The spiritual gathering, which is expected to bring together about 600 people from around Botswana, will be commemorated under the theme “You are no part of the world”.
Morton says this was derived from John 15:19, a verse from the Bible through which Jesus left his disciples a message.
The gathering, popularly known as the Circuit Assembly will focus on strengthening the audience spiritually and helping them to cope with life’s hardships.
The even patterned after the assemblies of the biblical times which were arranged for worshipers of Jehovah and their newly associated friends, according to Morton.
He said that admission to the event is free and therefore everyone is welcome to learn about the chosen topics to be discussed over the two days. Events of the days will include baptism of new followers as well as teachings about different aspects regarding the chosen theme for the year.
The annual circuit was designed in a way to help members of the Jehovah’s Witnesses keep to their faith because, says Morton, “Worldwide trends are changing dramatically in the areas of lifestyle, religion, and conduct among the young and the old alike.”
