Residents of Oodi, Matebele and Modipane are expected to have a limited supply and, at some stages, no water at all for a considerable period of time, as the water pipe that takes water to them has burst.
Tidimalo Palai, Senior Public Relations Officer at the Kgatleng District Council, pointed out that the Council is doing the best possible to minimize the impact of the disruption.
In that regard, she said, “the Council is currently sourcing material to bypass the existing pipe on A1 without interfering with the road. In addition, the decision to collaborate with Central Government Roads Department is set to pay dividends according to the Council spokesperson.
Meanwhile, Palai expressed the hope that while residents will experience some interruptions as a result of the work being done on the pipe, it would be advisable the systems be treated as normal to save available supply.
