Mantswe may join BFA presidential race

Police XI chairman, Solomon Mantswe is expected to add his name to the list of candidates contesting for the Botswana football Association presidency in the coming elective BFA assembly. 

Though he is yet to make his mind Mantswe confirmed he has been approach to contest for BFA presidency. “I have been approached by some to contest and I am still to make up my mind to be in or not” Mantswe said. 

Mantswe who is a Policeman by profession said it will be known next week whether he will contest or not. “I will make a decision before the closing of nominations next week” he said. He refused to reveal the names of the people who approached him to contest for the BFA plum post saying he can only reveal their names after making his mind. 

Sunday Standard sport is reliably informed that among those who are alleged to be in Mantswe’s team are Dickson Gabanakgosi, Gaolathe Kelisitse, Theressa Hirschfield, Gabriel Ngele and Kenalekgotla Sebolao. 

The incumbent Tebogo Sebego has since declared that he will be seeking a fresh mandate from football delegates. Maclean Letshwiti declared his candidacy on Tuesday to challenge for the top post. Both Sebego and Letshwiti’s team members are yet to be revealed.
