Masiela Trust fund once again put a smile on the faces of underprivileged kids and elders when the Fund visited the informal settlement of Naga Mphe Batho, which is located on the outskirts of the mining town of Jwaneng, to hand over bales of clothing donated to the fund by a local businessman, Mr Salim Palejwala of Electric Junction.
According to Masiela board member, Mr Eddie Mdluli, the donation is a build up to their Tenth anniversary celebrations on the 29 October when they will be holding a sponsored work to raise funds.
┬áHe urged Batswana, individuals and companies to follow in the footsteps of Mr Palejwala who has also committed to making annual donations to Masiela, and make contributions either in cash or in kind. “It’s not easy to source help for these kids. Masiela is a non-profit organisation and we depend on donations. If more people could come on board we can do something to eradicate poverty in this country and I would like to take my hat off to everyone who has ever made a contribution to Masiela. If it was not for them, we would not have been able to help these kids as our main contributor, which is the government, has not been able to support us for the past two years.”
