The 2022 Democracy ranks the United States of America as a “flawed Democracy” in the same class with Botswana.

Both countries scored 8.53 points each on civil liberties.

Botswana however has a better political culture compared to the US, with a score of 7.50 against America’s 6.25.  The United States has experienced one of the biggest declines in political rights and civil liberties of any country measured by the Freedom House annual survey – worse than Botswana.

Now here is where it all gets confusing: The United States of America has now appointed itself the keeper of Botswana’s democracy.
