“Masisi is a humble man”

Allow me to respond to your article, the Watchdog of Sunday Standard dated 21-27 May 2017 that His Honour Rre Masisi should free himself from the Indo-Sino commercial shackles.

I agree with your concern that this country should not be sold to a few or anyone else at the expense of this nation.

I respond because as ruling party treasurer and a citizen with a track record I can assure you that the party does not condone anything that does not comply with our laws and good business practice.

I can also vouch for His Honour Rre Masisi as we both come from the same village of Moshupa and I have known his family for a very long time.

His Honour is not there for material gains. He loves this country and is not greedy for wealth and is happy to assist anyone who can grow the business and employment.

I agree with you that he has to be careful not to contaminate his presidency for the sake of a few. Knowing him he is not a person who can be corrupted as he believes in the rule of law and good Governance.

I would hate to see that corruption is rife in our country and would fight against this practice as corruption is taboo and a disease which can destroy this beautiful country.

I must also assure you that there are no slush funds as alleged, as I would have known and do know one fact that to raise funds is the most difficult task and if anyone thinks you can be given money freely then I would like to be on that group to raise money for BDP.

BDP is not awash with money. We struggle to raise money and we are careful and control our finances.

There is also no group that has ganged up against or in favour of any candidate. As His Honour Rre Masisi is known and he has his own contacts of friends therefore there should be no fear.

There is nothing wrong in being friendly to people in fact it comes from being a humble person of good nature.
