Specially Elected Member of Parliament (MP) Unity Dow has fingered President Mokgweetsi Masisi, Minister of State Presidency Kabo Morwaeng, Directorate of Intelligence Services (DIS) Director General Peter Magosi and DIS agent Botho Seboko as the invisible hands behind France Museveni’s Facebook page.
In an explosive responding affidavit filed before High Court Judge Zein Kebonang, Dow states, “I list here, for ease of reference,some of the persons and functionaries I will be making reference to later in this affidavit and they are: The President of the Republic of Botswana, His Excellency Mokgweetsi Masisi, the Minister of State President, Kabo Morwaeng, the Director General of The Directorate of Intelligence and Security Services (the DIS), Peter Magosi (Magosi], an officer at the Directorate Corruption and Economic Crimes (DCEC), Priscilla Israel.”
Dow filed the court papers as part of her defence against a defamation lawsuit instituted by Botho Seboko, as DIS agent. The lawsuit allegedly follows Dow’s claims that the notorious France Moseveni is Seboko’s alter-ego.
In her court papers, Dow claims that Morwaeng publicly defended France Museveni in the presence of dozens of Members of Parliament.
“My reports to Morwaeng have been met with his justification for the actions of France Museveni. On one occasion, in the presence of thirty one members of parliament, Morwaeng made the false and malicious statement claim that, I was complaining about France Museveni because my son-in-law, was leaking DIS information to the media. Following the false and malicious claim by Morwaeng the same claim was made by France Museveni.”
Dow further claims that Directorate on Corruption and Economic Crime (DCEC) deputy Director General Priscilla Israel was transferred to the corruption buster “with specific instructions from Morwaeng to “ get me” and indeed she “got me” and other targeted persons by digging into DCEC archives and sharing information for purposes of embarrassing, defaming and turning public opinion against me.”
Dow also took aim at DIS Director General, Peter Magosi: “I First became Magosi’s special target when I differed with him, in the presence of at least eight witlessness, on the now infamous P100 billion “ Butterfly” case and the associated evidence collection methods. Shortly thereafter, I voluntarily stepped down from Cabinet.”
The former Minister claimed that Director of Intelligence Services, Research and Analysis Botho Seboko was the main character behind the France Museveni account.
She says the applicant Seboko wants the court to silence her forever but offers no relief to her and her family to the sustained damaging attacks by a troll he is in a position to unmask and stop.
Dow says the Botswana Government has the resources and expertise to identify a troll, especially one that is active and posts potentially self-identifying information.
She says the reckless practice by DIS through France Museveni of exploiting Information and/or intelligence in the manner they do may have a real effect, if it has not already, of putting off potential collaborative partners in the realm of international intelligence liaison/cooperation.
“I assert that France Museveni is a cyber-troll who is state-executed and/or state directed and/or state-fueled and/or state leveraged and/or endorsed. I specifically assert that the applicant is a member of the state machinery that has executed and/or directed and/or fueled and/or leveraged and/or endorsed theactions of France Museveni. I offer in support the following information: France Museveni trolls, targets, attacks and defames those persons who have, or are perceived to have, displeased President Masisi or Magosi, ”said Dow.
“I specifically assert that France Museveni is an illegitimate and dangerous creation by Magosi and that the applicant and the DIS are participants in the activities of this illegitimate and dangerous enterprise, said Dow.
Dow says Seboko and the DIS are behind France Museveni’s social media accounts. “It is admitted that there are “victims of France Museveni” but it is asserted that the applicant and through him the DIS and/or The President and/or The CIC and/or the Attorney General and/or the Police can stop my victimization as well as that of the targeted judges, diplomats, lawyers, civil servants, ministers, members of parliament, private citizens and businesses who have been trolled and defamed by France Museveni, with “reckless abandon” to use the Applicant’s own words.”
In her court papers, Dow says the DIS is party to, political contestants within and outside the Botswana democratic Party, business people or any individual perceived to be against, or critical of, the presidency or the DIS.
