In our edition of April 18-24 on the Lifestyle pages under the headline “Peermont Hotels positive about World Cup” we inadvertently suggested that Peermont Hotels in Botswana are anticipating a surge in hotel bookings during the World Cup period. It has since been brought to our attention that in fact Peermont Hotels: Grand Palm, Mondior and Metcourt Inn in Gaborone and Francistown and Walmont at the Grand Palm, do not show any additional bookings when comparing with normal bookings, indicating that there is no positive impact from the World Cup. The Sunday Standard wishes to apologise to its readers, Peermont hotels and their clients for the mistake.
