Botswana most decorated 400 metres athlete Amantle Montsho and South Africa’s champion, Caster Semenya will be the star attraction at the 7th edition of International Working Group on Women and Sport (IWG) in Gaborone where they will run fellow women through their track to success.

IWG’s Marketing and Public Relations Manager, Boitumelo Kenosi told The Telegraph Sport that. “Montsho and Semenya have registered and will be part of the conference. They will discuss and share their journey and experience towards stardom with the rest of the people who will be attending. They will tell their personal stories detailing how they managed to pull trough against all odds” Kenosi.

Montsho won Gold medal and silver medal at the just ended commonwealth Games hosted by Gold Coast, Australia. The two athletes are often ridiculed for their Amazonian built are likened to men because of the muscular body.

Kenosi said they will be profiling speakers to let the audience in on the wealth of talent and skill they are bringing to the conference.

FIFA and International Olympic Committee (IOC) are among sporting organisations that are expected to grace the four day conference.  As part of a crusade to hype the conference the IWG secretariat will on Thursday host a 21 day countdown which will set off a series of awareness campaign to sensetise the public about the world event. “IWG will be having activations at the Gaborone Bus rank and at Old Naledi location. We expect fanfare during our activations. Goodies and information will be given to the public as a way of maximizing patronage from the local community” said Kenosi.

She explained that they will also host a sponsors’ night to acknowledge patrons who have come on board to partner with IWG. “Sponsors contribute immensely for the success of the event and we want to have a long lasting legacy. We are hosting sponsors night to appreciate their immeasurable contribution towards our course” Kenosi said.

Individuals and companies are encouraged to register with IWG to exhibit their products for potential business opportunities that the conference will be offering. Exhibition for the entire four days is $450.

The conference will be held under the theme “Determine The Future. Be Part Of The Change.” It will be hosted by Gaborone International Convention Centre (GICC) on the 17th ÔÇô 20th May 2018.
