Multichoice Botswana launches Box Office

Courtesy of Multichoice Botswana, many Batswana will now have a high definition cinematic experience with the latest chart topping blockbusters just a few clicks away.?At the beginning of this week, the Multichoice team officially unveiled the much anticipated Box Office feature which until now had been available in other countries.?

When officially launching this feature to the press, Multichoice Botswana’s Chief Executive Officer, Billy Sekgororoane, explained that Multichoice has been operating in Botswana for the past 19 years as the first and only pay satellite television in the country.

He said Multichoice had availed to customers the PVR, HD PVR, Explora and the Zappa decoders to choose from, which he described as some of their major milestones.?Marketing Executive, Basadi Masimolole, said the Box Office feature is available to DSTV Compact, Compact Plus and premium subscribers with an active PVR subscription.

“And with the Explora decoder, we’re taking on demand video to a whole new level by offering subscribers an experience that mimics the internet but on a decoder, and without the high data bills,” said Masimolole.

Lebogang from the technical team took all present through a detailed step-by-step experience with Box Office. ?Lebogang further explained through the use of visual aids how to register online, how to watch the movie trailers, rent and play the movies which have all the PVR stop, pause, rewind and play.

The regular PVR decoders have a variety of up to 15 movies to choose from while the Explora has up to 20. ?The movies will be refreshed on a weekly basis and a subscriber will be able to rent each movie for 48 days with a 10 movies per day limit at P22 per movie. ?To rent these movies one has to register, and deposit some money into their Box Office accounts at Dstv offices or agencies. The money put aside for this feature will not in any way affect regular subscription.
