New hospital for Mochudi due in the next financial year

The community in Mochudi eagerly awaits the construction of a better hospital in their area so much that when the MP for Mochudi East, Mabuse Pule recently addressed his constituents announcing that their hospital will finally be built in the next financial year, they were so happy that some of them got carried away and went around happily brining the commencement of construction date forward thinking that he meant June this year. Those of us who missed the radio news bulletin which carried the date of commencement of the project were equally happy but were surprised that the announcement could be made in May, a few weeks before   construction work starts.

By that time, I knew that if they were correct, the contractor must have already received mobilization funds and already on site. I then drove to the site at Pilane/ Rasesa where I found no evidence of construction work about to start. I then called Mabuse Pule’s cell number to confirm if indeed it was true that work on the construction of the hospital was just about to start. There was no answer from the number that I had dialed, so I sent an SMS message to that number and still there was no response.  The old journalism tradition dictates that if in doubt, leave it out. So I decided to wait till May 27 for an event at which both area MPs, Mmusi Kgafela and Mabuse Pule were listed as speakers. I knew I would catch up with them there to pursue my enquiry.
