New lotions formulated for ethnic skin launched

One of the most internationally recognised hair care brands, Softsheen Carson’s Dark and Lovely, has introduced Dark and Lovely Body; which is lotions formulated for ethnic skin.

Benjy Molelekoa, Export Training and Promotions Manager of L’Oreal South Africa’s Consumer Division, officially launched the product on the Botswana market at Phakalane Golf Estates last Thursday.

He said that with research findings that women of colour counted rough and excessively dry skin; and uneven skin tone as great concerns, Dark and Lovely formulated the body care line that has 95% efficacy in providing 24 hour skin hydration.

He drew attention to what Dark and Lovely refers to as state of the art technology of sealing in moisture with added vitamin E and glycerine.

The three different types of lotions: Deep Repair, even Radiance and Moisture Plus were launched in South Africa in April with a campaign featuring Dark and Lovely Body Spokesperson, Nonhle Thema, a VJ on Channel O, Africa’s premier music channel.

Molelekoa says the 27-year-old Thema is relevant as Softsheen Carson’s Dark and Lovely Body’s face due to her exposure across the rest of the continent where the lotions are to be launched and distributed.

Thema joins Kelly Rowland, spokesperson of Dark and Lovely hair products. “I am honoured and humbled to be associated with the Dark and Lovely brand,” Thema said. “I am a fan of the product and very excited for by this new phase in my career as brand spokesperson.”┬á
