The days of unemployment for Daniel Nare are coming to an end if reports from Sua Famengoes are anything to go by.
Nare is reported to have met the team’s officials last week Wednesday in Sua where they offered him a job.
However, when contacted for comment Flamegoes’ vice chairman, Kentse Wamakoko denied ever meeting Nare.
“We haven’t met with Chicco. Our team is coached by Enos Mmesi and we are expecting him to report to work on Tuesday,” Wamakoko said.
He explained that Mmesi’s contract comes to an end by the end of the month. Asked if they will renew or hire a new coach he said: “We are yet to make our mind and we will see what to do in due course”.
He also denied that his team was also eyeing the services of Major David Bright whose contract with Morupule Wanderers came to an end at the of the season.
Nare quit his job at Lobatse based Extension Gunners after a fallout with the management during the just ended season.
Chicco was angered by Gunners management over an advertisement looking for a coach and players without his knowledge.
Upon seeing the advertisement he quit the same day without consulting the management.
Chicco disputed claims to have met any Sua officials. “I haven’t met any Sua officials and the team has a coach that I respect so much. What I know is that the team is coached by Mmeso who has a running contract with the team. By the time Chicco quit Gunners he had put the team on the top four spot.
Reports from the mining township of Sua suggest that Chicco is destined to coach Flamengoes. It will be Chicco’s first coaching career in the northern side of Botswana since his coaching career. Our sources close to the team further suggest that the offer that has been offered to Chicco is lucrative.
