Tumalalo Gazangeri, 26, a security guard at the Office of the President was on Tuesday arraigned before the Gaborone West Customary Court Deputy President, Kgosi Aron Setswane, charged with use of insulting language.
Constable Monametsi told the court that Gazangeri was arrested for insulting Boitumelo Phakwe on October 30, 2006, at Phase 2’s Razzmatazz Bar.
Gazangeri told the court that he did not remember insulting both the complainant and his parents using Kalanga language. He admitted that he was extremely drunk and asked the court for forgiveness.
Kgosi Setshwane sentenced him to three strokes.
